Kelley + Dave: Modern Purple Glam

Kelley & Dave were pronounced husband and wife at St. Viator Church in Las Vegas, Nevada on a beautiful mid-May evening.

Immediately following the ceremony, guests made their way to Keep Memory Alive Event Center where they were greeted with tray-passed light bites, champagne and cocktails. There was even a signature cocktail named "Patty Cake" in honor of the MOB, Pat! Luxurious white lounge groupings provided a chic setting while guests mixed and mingled under the breezeway's unique architectural canopy.

The iconic Frank Gehry designed Keep Memory Alive Event Center was the perfect setting for Kelley + Dave's wedding reception. With an eclectic mix of modern and classic décor, the space was brought to life with lush lavender and violet florals, white textured linens, silver mercury glass and pewter accents.

Guests were in awe as the sparkling crystal chandeliers and tall floral centerpieces caught their eye upon walking into the gorgeous dinner & dancing reception. After a delectable dinner by Gustav Mauler heartfelt toasts and special moment dances, the glossy white dance floor was filled with Kelley & Dave's friends and family! As some danced the night away to the tunes of The Lucky Devil's Band, others were taking memorable photos in the photo booth. Just when you thought the night had come to an end, Slidin' Thru pulled their truck right into the breezeway for guests to grab late night burgers and fries!

In leu of guest favors, Kelley & Dave chose a meaningful way to say thank you for sharing their celebration. They made a special donation to the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society in honor of their beloved pup, Shea, and to help other animals find their forever homes. Gimme Some Sugar created the most adorable "dog bone" sugar cookies (for human consumption) for guests to take home.

Kelley + Dave's BIG day was just what they had envisioned...it was a perfect way to celebrate their love for one another with all their family and friends.

We wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Thank you to KMH Photography for capturing their special moments.

Kelley + Dave - Inside Their Engagement

No Valentine's Day dinner reservations? No problem! Dave had a small trick up his sleeve when he told Kelley they were unable to go to dinner that night.

Kelley came downstairs to find her favorite bottle of champagne, two champagne flutes, and a beautiful book displayed on their coffee table. When she opened the book, she was surprised with the collection of photos and mementos that represented their nearly six years together.

Just when Kelley thought it couldn't get more romantic, she turned to the very last page of the book where Dave had written, "As we look out and imagine what the future may bring, I hope to have you by my side until the very end. You are my best friend and the love of my life. Will you continue this journey with me and become my wife?"

In the middle of their cozy living room, Dave kneeled down on one knee and proceeded to ask Kelley to marry him...she of course said "YES!"

We can't wait to play a role in Kelley & Dave's BIG day! The couple will be tying the knot mid-May at St. Viator Church, followed by a beautiful celebration at the spectacular Keep Memory Alive Event Center.

4 Tips for Hosting a Successful Cocktail Hour

Where is your favorite place to go for happy hour after a long day of work? Now picture your cocktail hour to be just like that but better! Think about it: It's early in the evening, and you have all of your friends together with your favorite drinks, apps, great music and comfortable seating. Read on to see our four tips on what it takes to pull off an easy-breezy cocktail hour that your guests will enjoy (and a few extra tips on the side to take your cocktail hour to the next level!)
1. Cocktail, Please!
Let's face it, when your guests arrive to the cocktail hour, the first thing they expect to have is a drink in their hand. It is called Cocktail Hour after all! Our top priority during the cocktail hour is to make sure all guests have a drink in their hand within the first 5 minutes of arrival. Whether the ceremony is at a separate location or in the same location as your cocktail hour, guests will always arrive in large groups. An idea to avoid long lines is to have servers tray pass pre-poured glasses of red wine, white wine, champagne and/or your signature cocktail. Not only does this eliminate guests from rushing to the bar and creating a line, but also adds a welcoming touch.

2. Plenty of Food
We often recommend a nice variety of 3-4 delicious passed appetizers along with at least one food station. This amount of options will keep your guests happy until dinner is served. The food station of your choice can help carry out the theme of your BIG day- taco station, wood fired flatbreads, or a farm-to-table cruditè bar. All food options should be bite sized, finger foods to avoid spills and to also give your guests more of an opportunity to keep the conversations running smoothly.
Helpful Hint: If you decide on a signature cocktail, make sure the appetizers you chose are complementary to your drink.

3. Create a Comfortable Environment
Create an environment that is welcoming and comfortable to your guests. We like to design cocktail hour spaces by providing tables of varying height - a combination of tall and short cocktail tables so the elderly guests and women in heels have a place to sit down. If the budget allows, we like to recommend adding furniture groupings for your guests to lounge on. The furniture design choice and the overall look of your cocktail hour can set the tone for the remainder of the evening.

4. Choose The Right Tunes
Although most guests will be busy catching up and talking with old friends during the cocktail reception, providing a bit of background music is an integral part of hosting a fabulous cocktail hour. Whether you choose to hire a live musician (examples may include a jazz band, string quartet, or acoustic guitarist) or simply play tracks through a sound system- your music choice should match the overall mood that you are looking to create.
